1. Scope
This Environmental Policy applies to all workwear, uniforms, safety garments, accessories, packaging, and associated operations carried out by Get Uniformed Ltd. It covers our UK premises, our supply chain (suppliers, manufacturers, transport), and delivery/distribution channels.
2. Principles & Environmental Standards
We aim to meet or exceed all relevant environmental legislation and regulation in the UK.
We adopt environmental best practices in materials sourcing, production, energy use, waste management, and transport.
Where possible, we seek to use environmentally certified materials (e.g. organic cotton, recycled polyester), low-impact inks/threads, and suppliers who themselves adhere to good environmental standards.
3. Responsible Sourcing
We choose suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and who are transparent about their environmental practices.
Raw materials and components are evaluated for environmental credentials: renewable sources, recycled content, low chemical use.
We encourage and support suppliers to improve their environmental performance.
4. Waste Management, Recycling & Packaging
We minimise waste across all phases of production (fabric scraps, threads, packaging).
Wherever possible, we reuse or recycle offcuts, waste materials, and packaging.
We use packaging that is recyclable, biodegradable, or reusable, and reduce packaging volume where it is safe and practical.
5. Energy & Emissions Reduction
We strive to reduce energy consumption in our premises via efficient lighting, heating, insulation, and equipment.
We assess our transportation and shipping methods to minimise carbon emissions (e.g. optimising delivery routes, using lower-emissions carriers).
We monitor and measure our energy usage and emissions, setting goals to reduce them over time.
6. Continuous Improvement & Measurable Goals
Each year, we define specific, measurable environmental objectives (e.g. % reduction in energy usage, amount of recycled materials used, waste diverted from landfill).
We track, review, and report progress internally.
We promote environmental awareness among all staff and encourage suggestions for improvement.
7. Transparency & Reporting
We report on environmental performance as part of internal reviews, and where appropriate, to customers or stakeholders.
If requested, we share information on materials, supplier practices, and environmental credentials.
8. Responsibility & Accountability
The senior management of Get Uniformed Ltd holds ultimate responsibility for implementing this policy.
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to comply with this policy and support its objectives.
We review this policy annually (or more often if needed) to ensure it remains relevant, effective, and up to date.
